Who doesn’t love talking animals…

Most of us love animals. If you are one of the rare people who doesn’t, allow me to save you some time by suggesting you move along and not watch the following videos. If on the other hand you’re up for a good laugh, this is for you. BBC One has a hilarious series called Funny Talking Animals – Walk on the Wild Side. The following videos are some of my favourites.

Allan! Or is it Steve?

Anyone who’s been to a “chatty” dentist or dental hygienist will relate to the monkey dentist.

It’s not me, it’s you…

We all have heard that famous line: “It’s not you, it’s me”. Well, sometimes, it really is him (or her). Finding your soul mate, significant other or whatever you want to call that special person that makes your little heart skip a beat can be fun but more often than not, it is challenging. We all have our own criteria and qualities we are looking for in a mate. However, sometimes, I wonder why some people would show up on a first date looking the way they do. When you are in your twenties, your expectations are different. Once you have reached a certain age, you usually know what you want and are looking for. For me, as well as being honest, gainfully employed and not living in his parents’ basement, it is a man who can dress like a grown-up; on our first date anyways…

Things like white running shoes with dress pants; baseball cap with a suit; stain or torn T-shirts are all deal breakers for me. And I know I’m not the only one who thinks this way. According to Ellen Rakieten and Anne Coyle, the co-authors of Undateable, there are 311 things that guys do that make them undateable. Although I may not agree with each one of the things they list, it is nevertheless quite hilarious and entertaining. Some of my favourites: the Canadian tuxedo (a.k.a. the denim sandwich), sunglasses worn on the back of the head, and, obviously, white socks (read any socks) with sandals. What are some of yours?

So do your single friends a favour and watch this video. Then, let them know how to solve this problem.

And, yes I agree, there are more important things to look at than the way a person dresses, but let’s be honest, the way you “window-dress” yourself can make the difference between being alone and finding YOUR special someone.

Just for laughs…

Montreal, Quebec, has so much to offer: architecture, great food, fashion, museums, the F1 Canadian Grand Prix, and so much more. Every year, Montreal hosts world-renowned festivals: among them, the Just for laughs festival.

For three weeks every July, downtown Montreal becomes the place to see some of the best comedians in the world. Some are well-known, others are on their way to becoming the next “big” thing. Over the years, some of the biggest names have taken part in the Just for Laughs such as Denis Leary, Dave Chappelle, and Jon Stewart. Craig Ferguson, host of CBS’s The Late Late Show, became an international star following his appearance at the JFL in 1987. This past July, he came back to host two shows featuring international comedians looking to become big stars in North America.

In addition to indoor shows, there are a multitude of free outdoor events at Place des festivals. You can see skits, clowns, jugglers, magicians, and so much more. There is something for everyone and you’ll have a great time for sure.

In 2012, the Montreal Just for laughs will celebrate its 30th anniversary. Victor, the Festival’s mascot, invites you to join in this spectacular, highly entertaining and so much fun celebration of laughter! If you can’t make it to Montreal next summer, at least visit the JFL’s Website where you can read their blog, watch videos, see photos and get all the latest about the Just for Laughs various events: it’s quite entertaining…

Say “cheese”!

We all know a picture is worth a thousand words. Some photographs can make you ponder life, others have the power to make you cry and then there are those that make you laugh.

I have recently discovered an extremely talented photographer by the name of Carli Davidson. Her pictures are different from anything else I have ever seen. Carli works with some of my favourite subjects: animals!

You can admire her amazing work on her Website, follow her on Twitter or like her on Facebook.

I hope some of her pictures make you laugh or smile at the very least…
